Visiting Tikkie in Frederiksberg, Denmark

Tikkie Elsøe, the blogger at adelie-blog.dk, lives with her husband Mads Elsøe who works at Politiken and their daughter Mollie Elinor. The couple, who live in Frederiksberg in Copenhagen, chose their new kitchen in a mint green colour from Reform.

For this couple, aesthetics is important – in fact more important than whether an item is made by a famous designer or found in a flea market. The light in the photo on the right is from the French store Beau Marche in central Copenhagen, the lava tiles are from Made a Mano and the small shelf is from Frama.

The couple is very interested in art and the lithograph on the left is by Cathrine Raben Davidsen and a gift from Mads to Tikkie. The chair from Thonet was found in an antiques shop and the pastel-coloured carpet from Stilleben is a wedding gift to the couple.

The colour of the new kitchen fronts was precisely what the couple wanted; “The cold mint green colour in combination with the warmth from the wood handles and the countertop play quite well together. It was a long process to find the exact mint green colour, and we looked at several colour samples. We didn’t want it to be too warm, or too blue,” says Tikkie Elsøe.
