Because you can be inspired by anything (including a dress and a skirt), today, we're showing you how we channeled this beautiful painting by Lulie Wallace and let it inspire an entire living room! Take a look...

Here are tips for being inspired by a painting:

1. We pulled the color palette from the art which is mostly greens, blues, and some pops of blush. Those colors came out in the solid pieces in the room including the wall, couch, and pillows.

2. Bring in one statement piece that ties back to the painting. This circle rug works well in a smaller seating area like this one, and the leaf design feels like a natural and graphic extension of the leaves in the painting.

3. Add additional artwork that complements. The prints we chose to compliment the painting are a bit more muted in color and subject so that the painting still serves as the focal point.

4. Finally, add simple (but varied) textures to go with the colors and prints. We added different textures with the rattan chair, gold accents, and marble coffee table.
